The ePortfolio of Joanna Russell Bliss
I enrolled in the Master's of Library Science program at the University of North Texas in August 2019, and I expect to graduate in May 2021. I want to work in an academic library, possibly in user experience or digital humanities.
I began working at SMU as a Research and User Experience Intern in August 2019; I work the reference desk and do special projects at Fondren Library. I also continue to work as a freelance website manager with two clients in California, as I have done since 2008. You can see more examples of my prior work experience on my LinkedIn profile, or at my professional website. If you want to get a sample of my interests, you can also follow me on Twitter.
This portfolio gives a brief look at some of the projects and assignments I've done at both UNT and SMU. I have only completed one semester at both universities, but I have already become involved with the continuing education committee at SMU (the LEAD group), and I will be part of a team presenting a digital humanities conference at SMU in August 2020. To learn more about what I have already learned and accomplished, as well as what I hope to achieve as a librarian, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
